You may know him as Tyler, the illegitimate son of Judith Light’s character Claire Meade in the final season of Ugly Betty.
You might have recognized him from the 2010 blockbuster Sex and the City 2 or critically acclaimed Revolutionary Road (2008).
Chances are you’ve heard he was the one who infamously kissed Ed Westwick’s character Chuck Bass Gossip Girl, or knew of his appearances on Law & Order, or on daytime soaps like As the World Turns and Guiding Light.
Neal Bledsoe has been one busy actor since graduating from Shawnigan Lake School (class of ’00) and he’s about to reach out to an even bigger audience.
Bledsoe is now an Old Spice Guy.
Joining Isaiah Mustafa, who pitches the deodorant products in the American market, Bledsoe’s commercials will air internationally and feature the company’s “Danger Zone” line.
The commercial has already got more than 288,000 hits on YouTube.
Shawnigan grad of 2013, Henry Kirsten saw the ad online. He said Bledsoe is “a great inspiration” to him.
The 10th grader plays rugby and takes photography among his regular studies at the boarding school.
“Knowing that someone from Shawnigan can do something everyone watches, enjoys and become a success from, it puts a positive impression on me,” he said.
Kirsten said his aim is to follow Bledsoe’s lead and try to make a living out of fine arts.
“I love the photography program here,” he said. “They’re helping me make a successful photographer of myself so that I can take good quality photos and make a living from what I love to do.”
A former classmate and fellow Shawnigan Lake School grad of 2000, Lindsey Munday Thresher, now lives in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. She also checked out Bledsoe’s latest work online and “Liked” it on Facebook.
“Yes — he’s always been that good looking,” she told the Citizen. “Correction — he’s always been that talented, witty and good looking…”
